Morocco is making major strides in transportation with the launch of the Kenitra–Marrakech high-speed rail line, set to become Africa’s longest.
Spanning 430 kilometers, the line will link key Moroccan cities like Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech, reducing travel times and positioning the country as a leader in sustainable infrastructure in Africa.
With speeds reaching up to 350 km/h, the new rail will connect Tangier to Marrakech in under three hours. The $9.5 billion project, supported by international collaborations with companies like Alstom and Hyundai Rotem, promises to generate thousands of jobs and boost tourism and economic growth. This rail line also aligns with Morocco’s green goals and could serve as a model for future African rail initiatives.
