Renico Construction was established in 1998 when Nico Louw, at that time a partner in a successful West Rand Estate Agency, realised that the demand for housing in the area, particularly for the first time homeowner, was growing rapidly. Over the years, the company has grown from strength to strength, having successfully completed over 200 projects, ranging from single residential units to large industrial and commercial complexes. It has now achieved an annual turnover in excess of R700 million.
In the residential market, the company has targeted the first-time homeowner and the investor looking for a value-for-money investment, and numerous complexes have been completed. These have either been sold under sectional title or retained as investment properties. Units in our investment portfolio become available for lease from time to time. The company is continuing to build for this category of buyer while at the same time entering into the affordable housing market – a marked contribution towards alleviating the severe shortage of housing for the lower income earner.

Recognising that there was a need to diversify, and with new industrial townships being proclaimed on the West Rand, the company ventured into commercial and industrial developments in 2000. Large-scale Industrial Parks and Office Blocks have been completed and sold to businesses and institutions. The company has also undertaken projects for specific clients, which were tailored to their exacting requirements. Those retained as investment properties have been leased or are currently available for lease.
Each project is managed by our team of highly experienced personnel, incorporating the services of various professionals in the architectural, engineering, quantity surveying and other related fields, with whom we have established an excellent working relationship. Many of our sub contractors have now worked with us for a good number of years and have proved their reliability and dedication to quality workmanship.
The company’s link to Renico Plant Hire, Renico Quarrying & Crushing and Janho is invaluable; we are able to maintain full control over all aspects of demolition, earthworks, construction and the recycling of waste building material. With Janho also producing aggregates, cement products and bricks, virtually all the frustrations in obtaining supplies have been eliminated.

Our leased property portfolio is handled by Renico Property Holdings. We believe that good upkeep is essential and our Property Maintenance Manager, with his reliable team, attends to any problems that may arise, ensuring that our properties are kept in good order at all times. The gardens of these properties are likewise developed and maintained by the Landscaping and Garden Maintenance team.
Top management believes in an open door policy and our Managing Director is personally involved with each project. Such a “hands on” approach ensures that good relations are maintained between our clients and the company at all times.
