The 12th African Investment and Trade Forum has opened in Algiers, bringing together government officials, investors, business leaders and trade stakeholders from across the continent to strengthen economic cooperation and regional integration.
The forum, which began on May 10, is focused on building partnerships aimed at accelerating Africa’s economic transformation, intra-African trade and investment flows.
Participants are discussing strategies to deepen collaboration in sectors including industry, transport, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing and trade facilitation as African countries continue implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Exhibitions at the event feature companies and institutions showcasing products, services and investment opportunities from across the continent. Among the exhibitors is Air Algérie, which is presenting its aviation and transport services during the forum.
The event also includes panel discussions and networking sessions designed to encourage cross-border partnerships and improve economic connectivity between African economies.
Organisers say the forum aims to support long-term economic integration by promoting investment cooperation, strengthening regional supply chains and encouraging greater private-sector participation in Africa’s development agenda.
The annual gathering has become one of the continent’s platforms for discussing trade expansion and investment opportunities as African nations seek to increase industrialisation and reduce dependence on external markets.
