Sisa Ntshona, CEO of SA Tourism – who was suspended from duty on April 1 of this year pending an investigation into allegations laid against him – has been declared not guilty.

Following a draft of the forensic report released to SA Tourism in July, the final findings were conveyed on December 13.

Ntshona will return to his position as CEO of SA Tourism immediately and will resume his office duties after the festive season vacation, the SA Tourism Board said in a statement.

“The independent investigation and disciplinary enquiry into the allegations made against SA Tourism CEO, Sisa Ntshona, has been completed. The Board received the final adjudication on December 13 from the team working on the disciplinary hearing and the Minister of Tourism has been appraised of this outcome. Following a thorough process, which saw a forensic investigation and a disciplinary hearing take place, Ntshona has been cleared of all charges brought against him.

“The Board is pleased that the process has finally been concluded and that the organisation can return to normality.”

Ntshona’s spokesperson, Lauretta Ngakane, told Tourism Update: “Ntshona is pleased that this long chapter is now behind him. He is looking forward to continuing his work of promoting tourism in South Africa.”
