Türkiye’s exports to Africa reached $13.3 billion in the first seven months of 2026, marking a 12.6% increase compared with the same period last year.

Exports to Africa also rose 16.3% in July to $2.3 billion, reflecting growing trade links supported by infrastructure projects, improved logistics and stronger diplomatic relations.

Egypt, South Africa and Nigeria were among the key markets. Turkish exports to Egypt increased 26.1% to $2.3 billion during January-July, while exports to South Africa rose 31.3% to $479 million. Exports to Nigeria climbed 52.1% to $453.2 million.

Other markets also recorded strong growth. Exports to Libya reached $1.59 billion, while shipments to Tunisia exceeded $720 million. Exports to Niger surpassed $302 million during the seven-month period.

Osman Aksoy, chair of the Türkiye-Africa Business Council, said the growth reflected years of commercial diplomacy and a “win-win” approach.

Turkish Airlines’ connections to more than 60 African destinations, expanding maritime routes and Turkish involvement in roads, ports, airports and housing projects have also helped strengthen trade.

Machinery, electrical equipment, automotive products, chemicals, iron and steel, textiles, food and construction materials remain among Türkiye’s leading exports to Africa.

Aksoy said Turkish companies should increasingly focus on local production, joint investments and distributor networks, particularly as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) creates opportunities to use individual markets as gateways into wider regions.
