Nigeria’s Dangote Petroleum Refinery has secured a significant agreement with the global distributor Vinmar Group to export its polypropylene worldwide.
This deal follows the launch of Dangote’s petrochemical plant’s polypropylene unit in Lagos this March. With an annual production capacity of 830,000 metric tons, the facility is set to become Africa’s largest polypropylene producer.
Currently, Nigeria relies on imports for 90% of its polypropylene supply, making local production a game-changer for the country. However, Dangote’s vision extends beyond domestic fulfillment—it aims to transform Nigeria into a net exporter, a goal reinforced by its partnership with Vinmar.
