Cathay appoints Shanna Docherty to key role in elevating the market success of Hong Kong’s home carrier across the Middle East and Africa.
Premium travel lifestyle brand and Hong Kong’s home airline, Cathay, which recently resumed direct flights between South Africa and Hong Kong, has appointed Johannesburg-based Shanna Docherty as Regional Head of Trade Sales for Middle East and Africa (MEA).
Docherty will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and strategically optimising revenue across the airline’s channel partners. She has 14 years of comprehensive aviation experience and brings a deep understanding of commercial acumen, effective people management, and a genuine respect for cultural diversity.
Docherty joined Cathay in 2019 as Cargo Manager and has been an ardent advocate for the empowerment of women in the aviation sector. She has held a number of key senior aviation roles prior to joining Cathay, including in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
