GOVERNMENT says the journey towards achieving comprehensive financial inclusion for the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sub sector is still a considerable one.

Acting Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary-Budget and Economic Affairs Mwaka Mukubesa said according to a 2022 Bank of Zambia report, only 12.5 percent of the total value of loans disbursed in 2021 was directed towards the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sub sectors.

Head of Development and Cooperation at the German Embassy Jonathan Gatzer has revealed that his government has partnered with the Zambian government to improve the supply of financial services adapted to farming and agri-based enterprise needs.
