Johannesburg, Tuesday, 8 September 2020 – Nedbank will be at Africa’s largest agriculture event, Nampo Harvest Day, which in an historic first takes place as a virtual exhibition and conference from 9 to 12 September 2020.

Nampo, traditionally one of the largest gatherings of agriculture industry players in Bothaville in the Free State, was cancelled, along with the Nampo Cape and Nampo Alfa events, due to lockdown regulations arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic.

But in the true spirit of ‘making a plan and tackling the future head on’ Nampo Virtual will, using a virtual platform, bring together leading suppliers, exhibitor webinars, panel discussions and more, throwing the spotlight on broader, critical issues that affect the farming industry.

‘As money experts committed to doing good, Nedbank is an enthusiastic participant at Nampo, analysing and contributing to the debates around the key issues affecting the industry, which has remained resilient during the pandemic but undoubtedly took a knock,’ says John Hudson, National Head of Nedbank Agriculture.

While Nampo Virtual offers visitors the opportunity to stay on top of the latest agricultural trends and developments, we are keen to cast the net wider, focusing on critical issues such as transformation, sustainability and technology adoption, while also exploring the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the agricultural sector and our future prospects in a post-Covid-19 scenario,’ says Hudson.

‘In these uncertain times and in what is a new experience no one quite knows what to expect at Nampo Virtual, but as we strive to create the future we want, Nedbank Agriculture is looking forward to engaging with the agricultural sector at large. It is therefore with keen anticipation that Nedbank Agriculture will be part of this ground-breaking event enabling farmers, producers and the agricultural industry to log in from virtually anywhere and everywhere to participate in the bumper four-day trade show,’ says Hudson.

It is a first for Nampo Virtual and visitors to attend and experience both the show floor and the informative digital TV programme at no cost.
